Today I was chatting to some work colleagues and they asked me about Azanias murder rate. So I said there were about 50-60 murders EVERYDAY that we know of. The group of them looked at me horrified like I had just said something evil.

Then I asked, so whats the murder rate here?

Someone answered, about 2 or 3 murders.

I said: Everyday?

They said: Nope

I said: Every year?

They said: Nope...thats for the last 30 YEARS!!!!

Population predictions for Apezania (use to be called South Africa)

The other day I was chatting to a friend online and he was droaning on about how the Afrikaners were going to take back control of Azania due to AIDS killing a huge chunk of the darkies. I totally disagreed with his argument (he was an Afrikaner BTW) and I am going to explain why in this post. Keep with me on this one. There are some calculations but nothing difficult.

According to the CIA web site:

Arseania has a population of 44 million as of July 2007. They also mention that Apezanias population "growth" is -0.46%. Lets round it up and says its -0.5% just to keep the calculations simpler (this also allows the kaffir apes that read this site to follow whats going on).

Ethnic group break down is as follows according to the CIA site (as of 2001):
Black African monkeys: 79%
White: 9.6%
Coloured: 8.9%
Indian/Asian: 2.5%

Lets assume that:

1) The white popultation grows by 1.5% (the world growth rate according to the CIA World Fact Book is 1.167%)
2) The negative "growth" rate of -0.5% only applies to the SNBs (Savage Negro Beasts)
3) Lets ignore immigration to keep things simple for now as no one knows for sure how many whites have REALLY left SA
4) Lets forecast up until the year 2050

As you can see I am painting the most positive picture possible here from a whites perspective as we are using a high birth rate for the whites and ONLY applying the negative growth rate to blacks.

So out of 44 million Azania citizens there are:
1) 35 million monkeys
2) 4.2 million whities
3) 3.9 million coloureds
4) 1.1million Asians/Indians

For this discussion we are only really interested in the black ape group...all 35 million of them. Roughly, whites are outnumbered by non-whites by about 10 or 11 to 1.

Sooo. If we lose 0.5% of the 35 million apes every year that works out to around 220000 monkeys dying every year. Since we are working this out until the year 2050 there are 43 years left (2050 minus 2007). 43 years times 220000 equals: 9.5 million (this has NOT been worked out using compounding to keep things simple. Had we used compounding then fewer blacks would have died overall. Again, think best case scenario for whitie).

We started with 35 million monkeys in 2007. In 2050 we will have about 25.5 million apes left.

Now lets work it out for the white race.

If the white race grows by 1.5% every year then there will be around 63000 births every year. Times that by 43 years and you get 2.7 million.

So in the year 2050, we will have 25.5 million kaffirs left and the white race would have grown to 6.9 million. This gives us a ratio of blacks to white of about 4:1.

Now remember this is the BEST case scenario for us...to be outnumbered by 4:1!!!! This Afrikaner guys argument was that they would be wiped out and we could EASILY take back SA and rule. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

Bear in mind that I have ignored:
1) Illegal immigration
2) A possible cure for AIDS and other diseases
3) Whites leaving the country for greener pastures

All the above points paint a bleak future for the white race if this is your reason for sticking around.

Well, its been about 9 months since I have posted anything on this blog. There are many reasons for this happening so let me explain. I decided to leave the UK and have since started a new job in another country. To say that this was stressful is an understatement! Anyway, I have settled in quite nicely and hope to start posting again on this blog.

I hope people will email me with their thoughts, comments and suggestions as to what posted on this blog. I really want everyone to be involved. I still feel quite frustrated as to what is happening in SA as we speak so the tone of this blog will sound very angry and negative at can be times. I don't plan on censoring myself at all so if you are easily offended, point your browser elsewhere! My goal is to post quality rather than quantity so if theres nothing worth reporting on then nothing will be posted.

This is a true story....

I lived in Zimbabwe when I was a boy till I was 9. My dad and family fled in a hurry as the officials took our belongings. I remember the day clearly as I cried in the car holding my red Tedy bear asking and pleading with my father to take us back, I looked up at the place I knew so well and said I would never see my friends again and i was right. time moved on.... after we moved to South Africa in 1986.

In 2000 I started a family and noticed how South Africa the Rainbow nation was starting the typical African trickery of selective distribution. I was in denial for many years and finally in the beginning of 2006 I decided and admitted that the future for a white South African or any white person for that matter in South Africa was not only limited but also a pipe dream. I announced to my family that we would be leaving and this time my daughter cried and pleaded with me. Full circle we have come.

I leave behind 8 businesses that I started and own interests, many employees and clients, and hundreds of contacts that pleaded with me not to go. I can truly say i will miss SA and that I have Africa in my blood but, I do not want my blood to be split in Africa.

reasons for my move....

Crime is out of control.
Ministers are stealing our tax money and when caught out they are put back in power after paying fines.
Schooling is no longer safe for kids, drugs, guns, sex and other bad elements are rife.
Infrastructure degradation, no matter what they say it’s getting worse.
Cost of living is sky rocketing, the honeymoon is over.
Currency is unstable.
AA this means jobs for blacks not for white so we not equal we are the lesser. (we are second degree citzens, like in Nazi germany with the Jews)
BEE this means whites need to give away more than half of what they have built.
Medical costs sky rocketing.
Most of the top skill has left.
Lack of planning in infrastructure I feel sorry for people visiting SA during 2010
Land grabs they happen daily and are covered up by the ANC and other factions, many productive farms are now in ruin.
Resource misdirected to officials family members.
Destruction of buildings and other monuments.
Some one told me just before i told them i was leaving that 2010 is coming my answer was yes and so is Zuma.
South Africans typically say you can not compare us to the UK or USA cause they have had years of development. Ok that’s fine then lets compare SA to Australia, most of those buildings are still in tact and little has been destroyed and the Aussies have built a good country.
I am taking the ministers advice, "if you don't like the crime leave" thats what i will do.

Good bye SA keep well hope all goes well for you in future and the leaders do not cripple you like they did Zimbabwe.

If we are forced to leave let us take our technology with us, and we are forced, do not say we not, no more denials the tuth is all around you.

This will be interesting to watch. Mugabe has destroyed almost the entire farming community in Zimbabwe in just six years. Should things change for the better (unlikely in my opinion) it will take DECADES to get things back to how they were.

Either way, I wouldn't be caught dead in Zimbabwes chaos.

South Africans are coming home

In the article it says that 1200 emigrants have returned to SA in the last two years and that 3000 plan on returning. Hmmm. I wonder how many of these people returned out of choice. Some people HAVE to return when their visas expire and they can't get an extension. The only way to stay overseas on a long term basis (or forever) is with dual citizenship or a proper work visa. People who have a two year working holiday visa CAN'T stay overseas unless someone sponsors them or they apply for a skilled work visa. One thing they conveniently failed to mention was how many people had been leaving SA in the same period.

If you do the Maths, 1200 emigrants over 2 years works out to 50 people returning every month (about two everyday). Every flight I have taken out of SA to the UK has always been FULL (many friends of mine have noticed this too) so the fact that 2 people return from overseas everyday to SA is quite laughable.

"Lots of people are worried about crime, job prospects and are scared of local red tape, but they are trying to come back," said Bailey.

Yeah, you had better be concerned about crime and BEE/AA. Theres no working around those issues. If you return and you are aware of these issues, you have only yourself to blame if it affects you. Why on earth would you want to return when those very items he mentions (crime/safety and job prospects) is what most people NEED to live a happy life?

Of course they don't convince you to return, how can they? Once they have mentioned the weather and the scenery what is left? Rape, crime, murders, high unemployment, corrupt government, high taxes, white genocide, incompetence, crumbling infrastructure, etc.

Its quite simple how working overseas in a first world economy operates. If you are skilled, educated and experienced in what you do, you will have no problem finding work. In SA it doesn't work this way, its all about who you know and BEE/AA nonsense rather than who is best for the job. Not a good way to build the economy now is it? Also, you'd be silly not to do your homework BEFORE leaving for overseas to make sure that you can find employment in your chosen country. This is easily done by using the internet or flying overseas for a couple of weeks to visit some of the employment agencies.

This is a good one. The official unemployment rate in SA is 26% but realistically its around the 40% mark. How on earth can living overseas in a first world country with 3-6% unemployment be worse than SA?

Keep in mind that during The Great Depression of the 1930s Americas unemployment rate was 25%. This means that SA is suffering an economic depression EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Nothing but propaganda lies. Grab that visa and leave the third world nonsense that is Africa.

What you are about to view below is the highway (the N2) you HAVE to take from the Cape Town International airport into Cape Towns CBD and other surrounding areas. This highway is "famous" for people throwing stones/bricks/rocks onto cars passing under the bridges. People have DIED from driving on this highway. Yet you never hear anyone warning tourists about this.

Many thanks go to my friend for taking these while driving at 120km/h. Heaven help any person who gets a flat tyre on this highway...

Now I have to ask the obvious question, how on earth is SA (ummm Azania?) going to be able to transport all the tourists that arrive in 2010 for the World Cup? Traffic in SA is already chaotic just on a normal workday let alone with thousands of tourists attending the World Cup. I can't imagine any sane person using the train service in SA.

You can see how the train service has degraded over the years just by looking at the condition the trains are in. They are filthy and run down. Why? Why should the Communists that run SA care about public transport when they have their own hidden agenda (like land reform and lining their own pockets).

Scary to watch how SA is being turned into another failed African state as the days go by. The boiling frog story comes to mind...

Explain to me how SA is getting better? Remember, once the government starts screwing around with land rights and the farms then its "Welcome to Zimbabwe II". I quote:

"The South African government set a goal of returning at least 30% of commerical farmland in the country - currently in the hands of whites - to black farmers by 2014."

Did you see what year they want to achieve this goal by? 2014! Makes me more confident on my prediction that SA will start to become another failed African state in the year 2014 and that by 2020 it will be game over. Note how they said "at least 30%". This means that they may want to claim far more that 30% of the white farms. Read between the lines...

And for those who think that the blacks are benefiting from the farm grabs:

One thing that is really good at the moment in SA is the exchange rate. It "only" cost R7/$ and R13/£. This is why emigrating from SA right now is perfect from a timing/forex point of view.

Rather be proactive than wait for the serious problems to occur in SA. Apply for that visa TODAY. Remember, countries that issue work visas have quotas. If you're trying to escape and they have met their work visa quotas then its "No visa for you". You also need to factor in the time taken for applying for a work visa. Some visas can take years to obtain. Do you want to be in SA when all this chaos is going on while you wait for your visa to be (hopefully) issued? There are many bottlenecks in SA preventing you from obtaining a visa in a timely manner like Home Affairs and the South African Police Service. Some documents take 2-12 months to be issued by these deparments!

To end, read what South Africas deputy president (I won't even try and type out that long name of hers) says about land reform:

She said many believed South Africa's own land reform process was too slow and too structured.

It required "a bit of oomph", she remarked.

"We learnt a few lessons from Zimbabwe - how to do it fast," she said to laughter from delegates, including Zimbabwe's Education Minister, Dr I S G Mudenge

"We may need some skills from Zimbabwe to help us," she said.

Visa Options for: United Kingdom (UK)

So you've decided that you want to leave the madness that is SA and move to the UK instead. So what options do you have? There are three main visas you can choose from:

Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP)
Ancestral
Two year working holiday

I will be discussing my experience with obtaining the HSMP visa. Before I do though, please be aware that the two year working holiday visa is a ONCE off visa. Once you have had one of these visas you cannot apply for an extension or another one. It also means that it doesn't lead to anything more "permanent" in the UK like permanent residency. For PR (or indefinite leave to remain (ILR) as the Home Office calls it) you will need an Ancestral or HSMP visa. Also, you can only work for one year full time and the other year must be spent trevelling.

Visa: Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP)

Visa description: Work visa

Time taken to obatin visa: Once I had all the relevant paperwork, it took one week to assess my skills by the Home Office and one week for the embassy in Pretoria to issue the visa in my passport. So two weeks in total if you are organised and have all your employee letters ready.

Duration of visa: Initially for 2 years and then another 3 years once an extension is granted (see below)

Renewable: Yes, after the 2 years you have to prove to the Home Office that you have been earning/working and then they will grant a 3 year extension.

Cost of visa: £315 for JUST the cost of the visa application to the Home Office. Making use of an agent will cost you another £700-900 depending on who you use. I made use of Work Permit (Workpermit) and had really good service from them.

Restrictions: Almost none. You can start up your own business if you want to or take up employment. About the only restriction I am aware of is that you cannot have access to any government funds (like the dole!).

Reasons for getting the visa: Unrestricted employment in the UK and the ability to start up your own business. This visa can lead to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) aka Permanent Residency and ultimately a British passport. Having a British passport opens MANY doors up as you can work in the EU.

with some of the articles I post on this blog. Bear with me while I explain a few things about Zimbabwe. When Rhodesia was under Ian Smiths rule the Rhodesian dollar was STRONGER than the US Dollar and the Pound! By 1998 the exchange rate was Z$64 to the US$. Eight years later (2006) the exchange rate is Z$1000000 (thats one million) to the British Pound. If someone had predicted this exchange rate in (say) 1995 I'm sure everyone would have said they were mad and yet here we are horrified by Zimbabwes currency crisis.

Add 1200% inflation and close to 90% unemployment and you have another failed African state.

So getting back to SA. I predict that by 2014 SA will suffer a similar fate to its neighbour. Why this date? Well Zimbabwes collapse started when Mugabe announced the land grabs. This took 20 years (1980 - 2000) from when he took power. So if we assume something similar happens in SA then 1994 + 20 years = 2014. Of course Zimbabwe didn't collapse overnight. It has taken from 2000 until the present for them to get to where they are (ie: near total collapse). So if we add another 6 years onto 2014 we come to 2020. This is when SA will be dependant on food imports and it will be hellishly difficult to emigrate due to the weak exchange rate. Keep in mind that countries you can immigrate to have visa quotas so if theres a mass exodus you could find yourself in a very difficult situation. Thats why I say its better to be 10 years early than one day late.

Can you imagine trying to emigrate when it cost R100 or more to buy one pound? I shudder to even think about it. Its difficult enough to leave SA with the exchange rate as it is. My advise is to have some funds overseas if you are considering leaving. Krugerrands are also ideal in an unstable environment.

Call me a pessimist but theres no reason to think that this WON'T happen in SA. The weight of Africa will ultimately crush SA.

If you are keen on applying for an Australian work visa then I hope you have the patience of a saint and enough cash in your bank account. The first thing you should do is to go to the following web site to make sure that you have met all the points requirements:

Should you meet or exceed the requirements for this visa then the next step is to meet with an APPROVED migration agent. A genuine agent should only take you on as a client if there is a 99% chance of you getting the visa. I made use of Knights Migration (Knights Migration) and they were fantastic. I can strongly recommend them. If you decide to make use of them then ask for Chloe. You can of course do all the paperwork yourself if you enjoy that kind of thing and have the time to read about it on the governments web site. I personally didn't want to risk screwing up the visa application process so I made use of an agent.

When starting the visa application process, you have to have your skills approved by the relevant people in Australia. For instance, if you are in IT then you need to submit the relevant forms and copies of your qualifications to the Australian Computer Society (Australian Computer Society). The cost of this assessment is currently AUS$350. They don't return documents so you will have to mail them a certified copy of any document you send them. This involves going to your local South African Police Station and asking them to certify the document. You will need your ID/passport and the original when they certify your documents.

Once your skills are approved for the necessary points you will then need to fill out some visa application forms (your agent will assist you with all of this). I suggest having a browse around:
The Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs. You can downlaod all the necessary visa application forms for your visa application in PDF format.

After signing all the relevant forms and mailing them to your agent the next step is to apply for a police clearance from Pretoria. This can take up to 3 months and I think it cost around R100. You will have to have fingerprints taken at your local police station. If you have lived overseas in the last 10 years then you will also need a police clearance from the relevant country.

You will also have to have a full medical examination by an APPROVED doctor that the Australian government has chosen. I think this cost about R2000. You will also have to have chest x-rays taken. At the end of the examination the results are sent to the Australian government (I didn't even see my results!). The main thing they are looking for is to make sure you don't have TB.

The last thing that you will have to do is take an English test. I couldn't believe it when I was asked to sit this test. I was brought up English but no amount of arguing with the agent could get me out of this one! This test is provided by the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and the cost is R1250. I recommend purchasing the specimens manual just to get comfortable with the format of the exam. This costs about R150. You can view their web site at: International English Language Testing System

When you've jumped through all these hoops they will approve the visa. It took me about 18 months from the time I started the application until I had the visa in my passport. When the visas in your passport you will HAVE to fly to Australia to activate the visa. Depending on the date of your police clearances, this could be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months that you will have to arrive in Australia. It is important to note here that you do not have to stay in Australia once the visa is activated. Should you activate the visa and return to SA you will have 5 years to arrive in Australia and settle there. Should you not arrive within this 5 year period you will lose the visa and have to apply for another one.

I would recommend having plenty of passport photos and certified copies of ID books/passport/qualifications while going through the visa application process. Also, courier EVERYTHING!!!

From a cost point of view, the cost of the skills assessment, agent fees, police clearance, IELTS English test, medical examination and courier fees came to about R30000.

The real bonus to getting this visa is that you can apply for citizenship in Australia after two years! So if getting a second passport is a prioroty to you then this is an awesome option.

Australia isn't easy to get into but if you have the cash, time and perserverance then go for it!

I had to "laugh" when I read this article. You have to read between the lines with an article like this. This is communism in the making. Its quite ironic that Mbeki says that we shouldn't worship wealth and yet there he goes flying around in his fancy jet. Makes me want to scream: HYPOCRIT! Sell your plane then and fly on SAA and practice what you preach!

A better life for all? Sure, if you're one of the fat cats living it up at the top of the ANC food chain.

If you can spare the R130 then I highly recommend it. Its quite interesting to hear what the former president of SA had to say. I am quite impressed that he was so perceptive about what would happen to SA if the ANC took over.

To quote Mr Botha: "Had SA been ruled by the black majority in 1948 or even the 1960s, we would have been in the drain (gutter) years ago."

He is against BEE/AA and doesn't believe in the so called "Rainbow Nation".

Great company for international tax returns

When working overseas you most definitely need a guiding hand with your tax returns. Since you will be new to the country, doing it yourself isn't really an option. I can strongly recommend:

They have assisted me with 3 US tax returns and they really do get you a huge refund. They take 10% of the refund for their services but it is worth every cent. I plan on using them while I am working in the UK. They also do Australia and a few other countries when it comes to tax returns.

Cost of living in the USA and the taxes

Its difficult to write about these topics since there are so many variables in determining what your cost of living and taxes are. I will mention what I experienced and you can use that as a starting point.

Being a foreigner in the US certainly has some great tax benefits. For instance, when you open up a bank account, be sure to mention that you are from another country. Why? You will not be subject to any federal withholding tax on any interest you make on the money you have in the accounts you have with that bank.

The other bonus is that you can open up a broker account there and any profit you make on trading shares/options/futures will not be subject to tax due to your foreign status.

You are expected to declare these earnings/profits to the SA Receiever of Revenue...

When I was an employee there on a J1 visa my average tax rate was about 28% BUT when I did my US tax returns I got a HUGE refund. Again, this was due to my foreign status. This brought my average tax rate down to about 15%! WOW!

I can only comment on the cost of living on the East coast as that is where I was predominantly based. I heard from many Americans that living on the East coast strip between New York and Washington DC is one of the most expensive places and I have to agree. I stayed in Maryland for just over 2 years and it was an expensive city to live in compared to Georgia where I spent the remainder of my stay in the US. In Georgia you pay far less for accomodation and you get more for your money but then again the salaries there are lower too. I think Georgia state is one of the most fantastic places I have ever had the honour of working and travelling in.

Rent in Maryland will set you back around $800 (single room) to up $2500 (for a 2 bedroom upmarket apartment) per month. My food bill for a single person was around $75 per week. I had a company car so I'm not 100% sure of the costs associated with this. Needless to say to lease a car is VERY cheap there. Broadband Internet and digital cable TV was about $80 per month. A meal out was about $20 and buying lunch (when I was too lazy to make sandwhiches) cost about $10.

I think its necessary to point out that converting all these costs in Rands is pretty much a pointless exercise. You should work out everything relative to your salary you will/could earn in the US. The ONLY time you should convert is when taking cash over with you to settle in for the first couple of months.

The first country I am going to discuss is your options to work in the USA. This is a tough country to get into and I will mention the visas that I obtained. You have four main options when applying for a visa at your local US embassy:

1) B1/B2
2) J1
3) H1B (leads to a Greencard)
4) L1 (Inter company transfer)

I had the first two visas so here is a breakdown of what they are all about (think of it as a cheatsheet!):

Visa: B1/B2

Visa description: Business/holiday visa

Time taken to obatin visa: One day

Duration of visa: Up to one year

Renewable: Yes but difficult to do

Cost of visa: Don't remember but its maybe a couple of hundred Rand

Restrictions: You can only be in the country for up to 3 months at a time and you cannot take up employment while you are there.

Reasons for getting the visa: You can CONTRACT there provided you are paid back home in your local currency. Great way to experience a new country and decide if you like it. If you are fortunate to work for a company in SA that has branches in the US and they are willing to send you over then this is a good option.

Visa: J1

Visa description: Training Visa

Time take to obatin visa: One day at US Embassy and a week of preparing the supporting paperwork. There is a mountain of paperwork that needs to be submitted with this application just to warn you! You have to prove that you are going to return to SA after your 18mths in the US is up. I did this by showing them proof of my retirement annuity I had (this proves ties to SA), bank statements and gave them a list of friends I had (with physical addresses and cellphone numbers!). You will be interviewed for this visa.

Duration of visa: 18 months

Renewable: No (this is a once off visa)

Cost of visa: $3000 (this included $500 to expedite the application process)

Restrictions: You have to work at the company that sponsored you.

Reasons for getting the visa: This is a GREAT visa to get if you can find a company that is willing to sponsor you. You can earn US dollars and be an employee of a company while there (while receiving all the benefits such as medical and bonus). The really awesome thing about this visa is that you don't have to pay medicare and social security and due to your foreigner status you pay less tax so your nett pay is substantially larger than what Americans would receive.

Am I glad you stumbled across this Blog. I intend to use this Blog to inform everyone how I have been very fortunate to travel the world and ultimately make up my mind to leave SA.

It all started when I matriculated 10 or so years ago. I wanted nothing more than to work in the US and the UK. As luck would have it, an opportunity presented itself in a job I had which allowed me to contract in the USA for one year and then to become a "temporary employee" for 18mths.

After my two and a half years in the USA my eyes were certainly opened and my outlook on life changed radically. Ironically, I learnt more about South Africa while I was away in the USA than all the time I had lived in SA!

Towards the end of my stay in the US, I had formed this picture in my mind of how great returning to SA would be. I had gained valuable new skills in the States and could now boast that I had international qualifications and experience. To cut a long story short, I could only handle working in an incompetent environment for 18 months! The funny thing is, I knew within arriving in SA after 2 weeks that I wanted to leave for overseas again. It just didn't feel right to stick around and my 18 months back in SA proved that.

During the time I was in SA I frantically researched work visa options. I started applying for Permanent Residency in Australia but after waiting over a year I got impatient (and more unhappy in my slavery of a job) and decided to apply for an HSMP (more on this later) work visa. The UK work visa came through in two weeks and I resigned, and a month later I was in the UK.

What I would like to do is post a couple of blogs as to how you can approach obtaining work visas that allow you to work all over the world. Oh, don't worry, I don't have a degree so don't worry about that! ;-) I can also recommend various agents that assisted me with the process and provide the ultimate cost of a visa (more affordable than you think). These are agents I have had amazing service from. So what do I get out of providing all this? Satisfaction in knowing that I have helped someone escape hell in the making...aaaah....karma!

This blog won't be just about visa information though. I will also post all the various sources of information I have used in coming to my decision to leave SA.

Anyway enough waffling. Thats just a brief introdution about me. Tomorrow I will post the first blog regarding obtaining a nice shiny new work visa that will allow you to escape SA!
